The Steel Press Bed is heavy and strong and requires little maintenance, providing a lifetime of use for any printmaker.

Base Level Black Oxidized

Black Oxide Finish is a commonly used surface treatment finish applied to industrial tools and machinery parts. This finish is chemical and rust-resistant. All presses come with this option unless another option is purchased.

Raw Steel Clear Coat

This option is for lovers of the raw steel look. After the press parts are finished and cleaned, the raw steel parts are clear-coated with an industrial, oil-based paint finish to protect them from water and oxygen.

Enamel Surface Hard Paint (Black or Grey)

Enamel surface hard paint is a specialized, oil-based enamel used commonly in industrial machinery and equipment. This treatment is oil, water, chemical, and heat resistant. If the press gets dirty it can easily be wiped clean without damaging the press.

16” Captain’s Wheel

The 16” Captain's wheel is made of solid cast aluminum with a free-spinning handle and is the ideal add-on for any printmaker who wants to print large editions with high pressure. The Captain's Wheel utilizes its physical weight with each rotation, allowing for less body fatigue and stress on the shoulders, back, and arms. It also looks pretty darn cool.

Larger Top Drum

Larger drum options allow for more pressure and less wheel or handle rotational “travel” as you move the bed under the pressure of the rollers. It is great for heavy editioning and heavy printing especially photogravure, Photopolymer gravure, engraving, and mezzotint. Optional diameter sizes are 4” and 5”.

10:1 Ratio Geared Drive

This geared ratio assist drive is designed to assist in printing heavier pressure printing reducing the body fatigue that naturally comes with editioning and day-long printing sessions. Perfect for those long nights of printing before the deadline arrives.
