Whiskey Tango Supreme

Shop manager, boss at hide and seek, full on ginger, perpetual judgement, printmaker, and the guardian of all things that looks like a chair or bed. Whiskey helps in giving Mitch the occasional side eye with a healthy dose of “it’s not good enough yet” quality control perfection.

Also, did we mention the perpetual judgement?

Alex Chu

After recently graduating from Concordia with a Bachelor’s in printmaking, I sought out to gain experience in my field. I was elated to learn that my professor Mitch Mitchell was looking for help and presented me with the opportunity to learn how to build printmaking presses. Although I had very little experience as a machinist, I did possess many of the skills required for the job. Patience, attention to detail, the ability to problem-solve, and most importantly, the willingness to learn are all skills that I picked up throughout my studies at Concordia. My only expectation going into this apprenticeship was to expand my knowledge in printmaking and learn something new. All I can say is that up to now, it has been an absolute pleasure to work with fellow printmakers and I am looking forward to what the future entails for Mitchell Press Works.

Maddi Berger

In 2017, I moved to Montreal from the United States to pursue a degree in Print Media. It was at Concordia that I discovered my passion for intaglio printmaking, as well as my desire to understand how and why things work. My position as an intern at Mitchell Press Works allows me to explore both of these interests, as I not only get to build the presses that I use in my practice, but I am also able to gain a deeper understanding of why the presses are constructed in the way that they are.
